| The Russian Democratic Party YABLOKO expresses its indignation
at the act of vandalism committed in the Gradsk cemetery in Chelyabinsk,
where 20 graves in the Muslim part of the cemetery were subject to profanation.
Vandals tore down the tomb stones and drew green swastikas on them.
YABLOKO condemns this act. We insist on an objective and comprehensive
investigation of this case. Those guilty of vandalism should be found
and punished.
YABLOKO states that every individual, regardless of his religious beliefs
or nationality has a right to respect and a deserving memory. We are convinced
that serious reverberations in society and a proper reaction from society
and the authorities will guarantee that such cases do not recur.
