Moscow, December 9. INTERFAX. The YABLOKO party conducts
negotiations on the creation of a coalition of democratic parties in Russia,
said one of the party heads.
"We have begun negotiations on the creation of a democratic coalition.
I am convinced that the negotiations will be successful," said Chairman
of YABLOKO' s Electoral Head-Quarters Sergei
Ivanenko at a press conference in the Interfax central office on Tuesday.
"It will be important for our party to participate in the forthcoming
presidential elections," added Ivanenko. "Now we are holding
consultations on proposing a single candidate." YABLOKO's leader
Grigory Yavlinsky who also
participated in the press conference confirmed that "YABLOKO will
participate in the presidential election by all means."
"The name of the actual candidate will be discussed in detail.
We have already begun consultations about this issue," added Yavlinsky
