MOSCOW, DECEMBER 7 (RIA Novosti correspondent Galina Amelkina)
- The
Central Election Commission was, on the whole, a success with preparing
grounds for pre-election campaigning and the actual campaign, says the
democratic political party, YABLOKO.
"The commission is complying with the law and helps parties to
work efficiently," Sergei
Ivanenko, in charge of the YABLOKO election campaign, said at a news
conference.
The commission made provisions for election monitoring, which is "part
and
parcel of democratic arrangements. You can't have too much monitoring,
considering the situation," he stressed.
Poll monitoring was a central issue of the entire campaign, as YABLOKO
sees
the matter. Characteristically, the party had reached an understanding
with
the Union of Right-Wing Forces, the Communist Party and the Motherland
election bloc to coordinate monitoring, pointed out Mr. Ivanenko.
