Moscow. On November 28 RF President Vladimir Putin held
a working meeting devoted to the problems of nuclear security.
The following officials took part in the meeting: Nuclear Power Minister
Alexander Rumyantsev, Boris Myasoyedov, Deputy Chief Science secretary
of the Russian Academy of Science Presidium, radiochemistry laboratory
head of Vernadsky Institute of Geochemistry and Analytical Chemistry of
the Russian Academy of Science, Grigory
Yavlinsky, the head of the Yabloko faction of the State Duma, Sergei
Mitrokhin, deputy from the Yabloko faction of the State Duma.
According to the RF President's press-service, Vladimir Putin touched
upon the multilateral nuclear ecological programme ratified by the State
Duma. The programme foresees mutual work with foreign partners to liquidate
Russian nuclear submarines.
The RF Nuclear Power Ministry has already signed respective contracts
for $100 million. This year the government assigned 2 billion roubles
to resolve the problem. "The ratification of the nuclear ecological
programme is a serious step forward in the resolution solution of the
problem as a whole", stated Vladimir Putin.
