Yabloko's 10th Congress marked by innovations on policies and
party's concept
Moscow. Yabloko's 10th party congress of Yabloko starts in Moscow
on December 22.
The participants will agree on a new political policy and party
concept. The project of a democratic manifest by Yabloko includes
fundamental principles and values, the aims and tasks of the party
in a new era of Russian and world history. According to the Yabloko
press service, the underlying fundamental principles and values
of the faction have been preserved. They are: creation of a democratic
and civil state in Russia, a civilised market and strong civil
society. The new democratic policy of the faction is based on
the assumption that democratic ideals in Russia can only be realised
by implementing a socially responsible policy in the interests
of all citizens of Russia. This is the crux of the party's social-liberal
ideology. Yabloko assumes that the European path of development
is the only one available for Russia.
The programe documents of the party include the party's positions
on the main directions of state policy at the beginning of the
21st century. They represent a comprehensive programme of activities
for the Russian Government. At the same time the programme outlines
a broad range of measures for the Yabloko faction in the State
Duma of the Russian Federation, and for the representatives of
the faction in the legislative and executive authorities at the
regional and municipal level.
The new document defines the principle for admission to the party,
cancels a trial period and candidate period. The admission procedure
has been simplified and involves a written application.
Other directions of the party's regulations will be discussed
at the congress.
