Moscow, August 21. The YABLOKO party will conduct its
election campaign strictly within the framework of the law. This information
was provided by the press service of the YABLOKO party and is indicated
in the Statement of the party "On observation of the principles of
honest elections in 2003-2004," signed by its leader Grigory
Yavlinsky. The Statement was forwarded to the organisational committee
of the "Elections 2003" Fund and to the Chairman of the Central
Electoral Commission Alexander Veshnyakov.
On Wednesday Deputy Head of the YABLOKO party Sergei
Mitrokhin declared that the party would not sign the agreement "Elections
2003" on the observation of honest elections that should be signed
on Friday, August 22. "The Russian Democratic Party YABLOKO has always
observed and will always comply with Russian legislation in all its actions,"
runs the Statement signed by Chairman of the party Yavlinsky. He also
stresses that "YABLOKO has never used dirty technologies, administrative
resources, never bribed the electorate and has always granted true information
to the mass media." The leader of the party thinks that "a campaign
using all the elements of the most dirty technologies has been carried
out against YABLOKO." At the same time Yavlinsky stresses that YABLOKO
is ready to participate in virtually any efficient observation bodies.
"We undertake to strictly observe the law and call on all our political
rivals to do likewise," concludes the leader of the party.
