St. Petersburg, August 7, 2003. There has never been a
split in the St. Petersburg branch of the YABLOKO party. Such a comment
on Irina Khakamada's statement about the action 'YABLOKO without Yavlinsky'
was made by the leader of the St. Petersburg branch of the YABLOKO party
Maxim Reznik to the Rosbalt correspondent.
"This is complete rubbish, noted Reznik.- Mrs.Khakamada should not waste timing fabricating
problems for YABLOKO, and should instead focus on the problems of the
St. Petersburg branch of the Union of Right-Wing Forces (SPS). He also
added that the SPS looked fairly silly requesting inclusion in the support
team of a well-known candidate in the gubernatorial elections of the Northern
capital. According to Maxim Reznik, an unknown Igor Morozov had never
been a member of YABLOKO, and "the provocateurs did not gain support
for their rubbish from the party ranks."
He also noted that "in reality the party discussed several candidacies
for the gubernatorial elections. However, after the adoption of a decision
all party members united to back Mikhail Amosov." "Such is YABLOKO's
principle," concluded Reznik.
