The YABLOKO Without Yavlinsky initiative will only help
to the leader of the party
St. Petersburg, August 4, 2003. The "YABLOKO Without Yavlinsky"
initiative will only help the leader of the party Grigory
Yavlinsky, said the Chairman of the St. Petersburg branch of YABLOKO
Maxim Reznik.
In an interview with Rosbalt correspondent, he noted that this campaign
"did not originate from St. Petersburg, as there is no such force
here." According to Reznik, YABLOKO had a hard time findnmig out
who Igor Morozov is and it is difficult to say how he could study the
situation in the party to be able to make such actions and statements."
It should be noted here that deputy of the municipal council No 65 of
Primorsky Area of St. Petersburg Igor Morozov heads the recently founded
movement. According to Reznik, it is clear that Morozov is "simply
a puppet."
The leader of St. Petersburg YABLOKO also stressed that the party members
reacted to the new movement as "a repulsive thing - calmly and with
dignity". Reznik is certain that "our citizens are clever and
will find out what is going on." However, he also noted: "it
is a pity that someone will once again label St. Petersburg the 'capital
of black PR', as clones of the LDPR and CPRF are likely to emerge soon."
Reznik is also certain that the emergence of the movement "YABLOKO
Without Yavlinsky" serves as "further proof that Grigory Yavlinsky
has been for the past ten years and remains the leader and most popular
politician among democrats."
According to Reznik, "we should work out who profits from this."
"All the black technologies emerged again after Kokh was appointed
head of the SPS election campaign headquarters, but 'YABLOKO Without Yavlinsky'
is the most innocent sin by Kokh and Chubais," noted Reznik. "This
is small fry for an elephant like us." Maxim Reznik also noted that
the party "will explain to the population who devised this and will
treat this calmly."
The St. Petersburg branch of the SPS could not have generated the idea
'YABLOKO
Without Yavlinsky', as relations between the St. Petersburg branches of
YABLOKO and SPS had been built recently on the joint resolution of many
problems, stated Reznik. "I hope that our relations will not be damaged
considerably during the State Duma election campaign in St. Petersburg,"
stressed the head of St. Petersburg YABLOKO.
The press-conference announcing the creation of the interregional public
movement 'YABLOKO Without Yavlinsky' took place at the Moscow Centre Intermediacom
on July 31, 2003.
