The YABLOKO faction of the State Duma is ready to submit its variant of the
draft state budget for 2003 as an alternative to the governmental
draft. “Our draft budget will be ready in September, and
we shall send it to the President of the RF, the Government and
will also submit it to the State Duma,” said Deputy Head
of the YABLOKO faction in the State Duma Sergei Ivanenko. The
reason is that the government’s draft does not resolve the
main economic problems. Ivanenko also expressed his opinion that
the coordination of the positions between the representatives
of the government with the centrist factions of the Duma “presents
the decisions adopted in the lobbyist interests of the centrists
rather than resolution of the main economic problems that the
country has to face.”
