Chairman of the YABLOKO party Sergei Mitrokhin demanded that
Anton Zhebrun, young YABLOKO activist expelled from the Omsk
University, should be allowed to resume his studies in the
university. Such a claim was sent by Sergei Mitrokhin to Public
Prosecutor of the Omsk Region and the head of the Education
Control Agency.
YABLOKO connects expelling of the student with his public
activities, as he is one of the leaders of the Omsk Youth
YABLOKO.
Anton was expelled on a formal pretext of failing the study
plan: he did not manage to pass five exams required for his
transfer from the “sociology” to the “political science” curriculum
in one day (appointed for him). The administration of the
university made grave violations of the law here.
“The student was given only one day for passing exams in
five subjects, and the university developed absolutely no
curriculum for him. The order on expelling the student was
signed post factum during quarantine of the flu. No explanations
were taken from Zhebrun, and the term for bringing to responsibility
expired on the moment of signing the order,” runs Mitrokhin’s
letter.
