YABLOKO’s
activists were detained in Ekaterinburg on September 19 and
brought to the local police department for investigation.
Four YABLOKO’s activists (including three minors) were handing
leaflets inviting citizens to join YABLOKO’s picket against
growth of tariffs for housing and utilities services on September
20.
The police told to Maxim Petlin, leader of regional YABLOKO
branch, that the activists did not have a right to distribute
leaflets without publisher’s imprint data.
Maxim Petlin called these claims absurd, as “the law does
not require to indicate imprint data on the leaflets outside
the election period”.
The picket against growth of tariffs will be conducted on
permission of the authorities on September 20. YABLOKO will
protest against 70% growth of tariffs on cold water provision
by 2010.
