Early in the morning on August 31 activists of the Youth YABLOKO
organisation of St.Petersburg conducted an action at the planned
location of the projected Okhta-Centre. The residents of the
city oppose construction of this centre – another Gazprom’s
skyscraper.
The activists hang a cross-street banner “Here comes a traffic
jam! Gazprom”. This is how young YABLOKO activists protested
against the building which, in addition to other problems,
will create large traffic jams in the city.
Many experts predict transport collapse if Okhta-Centre is
built in this district, as traffic has been very intense there
already.
