Court
hearings of the YABLOKO activists cases (collecting signatures
at the Red Square) have been postponed. The court sent three
cases of alleged “resistance to the police” back to the police
department. The trials were appointed on August 25 and August
27.
“Sending these cases of alleged “resistance to the police”
back to the police department the court virtually confirmed
that these cases had been fabricated. Tomorrow we shall apply
to the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Investigative Committee
in connection with police interfering with realization of
lawful rights of the citizens to participate in the elections,”
that’s how Sergei Mitrokhin, deputy of the Moscow City Duma,
commented on the court decision.
Six detained YABLOKO’s activists (Maxim Kruglov, Vadim Vaschenko,
Varvara Semyokhina, Marina Sergutina, Alexei Kozhin and Olga
Vlasova) were accused in unsanctioned picketing and calling
to vote for YABLOKO. This can involve fines. Two girls – Nelya
Taktasheva and Maya Zavyalova (those protected by Sergei Mitrokhin
- see
the video) and Mikhail Pischulin were incriminated resistance
to the police, which can be punished with 15 days of arrest.
