On June 11, 2009, YABLOKO’s leader Sergei Mitrokhin made detailed proposals for fighting corruption during the meeting of President Medvedev with representatives of three non-parliamentary parties.
The head of the state supported proposal of the YABLOKO leader to include representatives of the opposition parties into the Presidential Anti-Corruption Council. Mitrokhin also added that “thus representatives of the opposition parties will be able to engage independent experts, and the position of the latter will not be linked with the interests of bureaucracy.”
Dmitry Medvedev also expressed his positive attitude to YABLOKO’s anti-crisis proposals. In particular, he agreed with YABLOKO’s idea of transferring plots of land to citizens and providing tough control over the proper use of such plots.
President Medvedev also agreed with YABLOKO’s proposal to create “public markets” where associations of small business could get plots of land into their property.
