Deputy Head of the Yabloko faction in the State Duma Sergei Ivanenko advocates abolishing one of the norms of the Russian bankruptcy law.

"Since January 1 we in the State Duma repeal the provision in the law which stipulates that minority shareholders may propose the liquidation of a company," noted Ivanenko on Tuesday 27, 2001 in an interview with the NTV channel.

This was his comment on the decision of the arbitration court announcing TV-6 company bankrupt. The case was initiated by the Lukoil company. Ivanenko pointed out that Lukoil owns only 15% of TV-6 shares.

According to Ivanenko, this kind of bankruptcy of companies and enterprises implies the second redistribution of property after privatisation.

Here we are speaking not about the owner (Boris Berezovsky, the owner of the TV-6), but about an independent television channel, which has a broad audience, said Ivanenko.

Based on Interfax reports.
