24.11.2000 |
On November 24, 2000 the Court of the Central district of Krasnoyarsk satisfied the complaint of the “Union of Right-Wing Forces – Yabloko” bloc about illegal removal of the bloc from the elections, declared leader of the Krasnoyarsk branch of Yabloko, Valeri Kirilits. Valeri Kirilits also said that the Electoral Commission of the city recognised as void 119 signatures in support of the bloc and consequently, removed the bloc from the elections. However, the members of the bloc managed to find 73 people who personally confirmed the authenticity of their signatures. Now the Electoral Commission of the City will have to print again the voting slips. The Commission claims that this will cost 500,.000 roubles. As well as these slips for the election of deputies of the Krasnoyarsk City Council, they will also have to print again the voting slips for the elections of the Mayor of Krasnoyarsk. On November 23 the court restored the rights of the candidate to the post of the Mayor of the city and ex-deputy of the State Duma Viktor Gitin. The Electoral Commission annulled the lists with the signatures of the electorate in his support, on the pretext that they had not been signed by Gitin personally. RBC obtained this information from the Central Court of Krasnoyarsk. At the same time on Saturday, November 25, 2000, pre-term elections are underway in Krasnoyarsk. Consequently, the Electoral Commission has only several hours left to print out the first lot of new voting slips. Based on RBC reports. See also: | |||
