The following representatives of Yabloko
were sent to the joint Political Council for the coalition
of liberal and democratic forces: Vladimir Lukin, Sergei
Ivanenko, Alexei Arbatov, Sergei Mitrokhin and Alexander
Kuznetsov.
A corresponding decision, signed by Yabloko’s
Chairman Grigory Yavlinsky on July 13, 2000, stipulates
that Yabloko’s representatives were sent to the Political
Council “to speed up the creation of an effective democratic
coalition”.
This list of representatives from Yabloko
should be approved by the Central Council of the Yabloko
Association.
Grigory Yavlinsky authorised the representatives
from Yabloko “to prepare and discuss the regulations on
a joint Political Council, agenda and work procedures with
representatives from the Union of Right-Wing Forces.”
Yabloko and the SPS factions of the State
Duma adopted a joint decision to create a section on education
policy under the Co-ordination Council of the factions.
The main task of the section is as follows:
- co-ordinate the positions and actions
of the factions in education policy;
- drafted a united stance of the factions
on education policy, etc.
The heads of the factions Grigory Yavlinsky
and Boris Nemtsov appointed deputy heads of the Duma Committee
for Education, Alexander Shishlov (Yabloko) and Ludmilla
Glebova (SPS), as co-chairpersons of the section.
