Grigory Yavlinsky is
worried that partisan war may spread to the whole of Russia.

Presidential candidate and the leader of the Yabloko association
Grigory Yavlinsky thinks that the "main danger today is
the partisan war and the wave of terrorism that may spread
from the Northern Caucasus all over the country".
In an interview with journalists on March 3, 2000, Grigory
Yavlinsky said that he would soon make his plan to regulate
the dispute in Chechnya (which had previously been sent
to acting President Vladimir Putin) known to the general
public.
Yavlinsky also thinks that negotiations in Chechnya may
be carried out "with everybody who recognises the Constitution
of Russia, did not participate in any torture, hostage-taking
and brutalities". Speaking about the death of the OMON soldiers
near Grozny in Chechnya, Yavlinsky said that "he commiserates
deeply with all the families of the dead soldiers and wishes
with all his soul that all Russian soldiers stayalive and
return home with a clear conscience". Based on Interfax

Matvienko about supporting her candidacy for the gubernatorial
elections in St Petersburg" Presidential candidate Grigory
Yavlinsky said, in an interview with journalists on March
3: "Yabloko will talk to Deputy Prime MinisterValentina
Matvienko on supporting her candidacy for the gubernatorial
elections in St.Petersburg". At the same time Grigory Yavlinsky
noted that Yabloko in St Petersburg had and has, in addition
to Sergei Stepashin, its own candidate, former Deputy Governor
of St Petersburg for Economics and Finance Igor Artemyev.
"We continue our work here and we are going to conduct all
our consultative work from these positions", said Grigory
Yavlinsky. Speaking about the decision of member of the
Yabloko faction and ex-PrimeMinister of Russia Sergei Stepashin
not to stand as candidate forgovernor,Yavlinsky noted that
"Sergei Stepashin takes such decisions independently". "I
support Sergei Stepashin, and if he considers it necessary
to take such adecision, I am ready to share his opinion',
said Grigory Yavlinsky.

Prime MinisterValentina Matvienko on supporting her candidacy
for the gubernatorial elections in St.Petersburg".
At the same time Grigory Yavlinsky noted that Yabloko
in St Petersburg had and has, in addition to Sergei Stepashin,
its own candidate, former Deputy Governor of St Petersburg
for Economics and Finance Igor Artemyev. "We continue our
