Action Initiative Group” association for the defence
of human rights headed by Sergei Kovalyov,
- The Russian Joint Social-Democratic
Party headed by Mikhail
Gorbachev
- The Journalists’ Union
headed by Igor Yakovenko,
- The Union of Right-Wing
Forces headed by Boris Nemtsov,
- The Glasnost Protection Fund headed by Alexei Simonov,
- The Yabloko association
headed by Grigory Yavlinsky,
- Leonid Batkin, professor, the Russian State Humanitarian University.
The All-Russia Democratic Assembly represents dialogue on the
most important issues of the development of the country, and includes
as equal members political parties, associations, non-political
civil organisations and public figures.
The task of the All-Russia Democratic Assembly is to develop
coordinated positions on the most important problems of Russia’s
development.
The principles of the activity of the All-Russia Democratic Assembly
are equality of all participants, search for mutually shared points
of view and the recommended nature of its decisions.
It is planned to conduct meetings of the All-Russia Democratic
Assembly at least once every three months.
The participants of the All-Russia Democratic Assembly chair
in turn the meetings.
The next meeting of the All-Russia Democratic Assembly is scheduled
for June 19, 2001.
